Paris Fashion Week Couture 2023 describes the ethereal dreams of fashion designers, creativity unleashed. And how can we possibly not dream to wear those designs in marvelous settings?! Not for the casual, day-by-day looks, though!
Old photo, the inspiration for the new Couture 2023 fashion collection
Giambattista Valli did it again with its voluminous dresses, and colorful outfits depicted from a movie scene. In fact, the inspiration came while staying at The Beverly Hills Hotel and seeing, in the corridor, an old photo of peony pink midcentury cars parked in front of Sunset Boulevard. Around it, glamorous women wearing mostly pink flaring ballgowns and men in tuxedos. He wanted to incarnate all this!
So, the Couture Spring 2023 was a revival scene depicted from that old photo. A dream, a fantasy of wearing an introspection to happiness. Colors and volumes were taken to extremes with all the ballgowns, fishtail dresses, feathery coats, and embroidered jackets.
Haute Couture collection, not casual looks for Paris Fashion Week
"We're talking about gowns for parties - for happy times," Valli said. "I think the most important thing about haute couture is the clothes, of course, but you also bring a dream."
The designer emphasized the idea of extravagant clothes without letting the woman behind. We can see the sensual feminine side, with uncovered parts such as the shoulders or the legs.
The socialite Marina Barbosa to present the finale look
The cherry on top, the designer invited the Brazilian actress and socialite, Marina Barbosa, who wore the finale look: the sparkling jacket, voluminous pants, and a tulle cape. She is known to be the brand's muse and ambassador.
