From 2006 when Dior first made its Cruise show in New York, the 2014 is an archive revisited line under Raf Simon signature.
The entire 66 pieces collection is a breath of fresh air: pure epurated lines, geometric motifs, florals and scarves. Raf Simon took its inspiration from the Dior collections and turned them into his own style. He wanted to touch a bit the Dior history but through his vision.
He used scarves as a fantastic symbol he is very fond of. It helps him visualise scarves in carre as geometrical form. "I wanted to deal with in a different way," Simons said, cited by WWD. "Not as a styling element around the neck. I wanted to see how can we use that as an element, and see how I could deal with prints and flowers in a different way."
The Dior Cruise 2015 collection was a playful creative game of Dior elements like florals with precise vision of the designer in geometric forms under the use of scarves. A collection that has an air of glam in pure lines, free flows and rigid tailoring.
