In the perfectly Chanel style with a lot of tweed and accessories, Karl Lagerfeld put a show in a Texan style. Why Texas? Simple! Because it was the American city that received Coco Chanel while France rejected her. So, it is an hommage to the city that relaunched the big fashion designer. And the place was perfect: Métiers d'Art.
In this country style collection, we can notice all around the fringes, the feathers and the fantastic mix of materials. At a closer look, you can see that the jacket was in fact a gold-leaf lacquered over denim, that it was used very much heavy leather and every accessory had a particular care for detail like the collage for the hair.
"It was eclectic, fun and very cowboy chic. You could almost feel the spirituality in the clothing," said Jessica Nowitzki.
There were more than 200 guests coming for the show. It was like a fashion invasion that made Dallas stir. Among the celebrities, there were Kristen Stewart, the new Chanel muse, Alexa Chung, Zoe Kravitz, Lily Collins, Dakota Fanning.
It was, in fact, a fashion event in which Karl Lagerfeld mixed the honouring of Coco Chanel with the haute couture, Texan style and the ambition of going beyond each detail in order to create a fashion explosion of emotions.
