For a spring collection a burst of colors and flowers comes as natural. But when a fashion designer like Karl Lagerfeld makes a Couture collection for Spring 2015, this has to have something out of the ordinary. And it did!
An invitation to a large garden just beneath the Grand Palais where a circular white garden was prepared for the guests in order to come with the splashes of genius afterwards.
Between tulle hats or knit cap and flat black booties, there was Chanel in tweeded jackets in different cuts and shapes and fairy tale on floral dresses and skirts. As for the finale, the amazing wedding dress with a floral embelishment that is so discrete yet so valuable in its art.
Everything was worked, as usual, in its deepest details like embroidery and textures, lace and linen, the florals and the blossoms, the pale colors but also the burst of colors like yellow, orange, blue, all different proportions. Also, a new element was shown: the belly!
"The stomach is free. It's the new cleavage," Karl Lagerfeld cited by WWD.
It is a collection that mixes Chanel's traditional style with Karl Lagerfeld's grungy vibe, a mix of wearabale couture taken from ideas into reality.
