A different air at Louis Vuitton! It is not Marc Jacobs print anymore. We can clearly see the vision of Nicolas Ghesquière who is more practical, more cerebral.
This collection is very into ready-to-wear with clothes that can perfectly stock to your wardrobe. This was what the designer had in mind.
"The clothes have to be functional," Nicolas Ghesquière said cited by WWD. "What do the girls around me want to wear? I'm surrounded by many women, so I listen to them. I collect a little thing from all of them and mix it. A wardrobe."
So, this Fall 2014 collection is a sign that women need to see more practical and functional clothes on the catwalk. With a 60s touch, we can see a lot of zippers, large pockets, big V-neck dresses with a bit of retro cuts, a mix of fabrics and prints in the sober colors of the autumn. Also, the coats have a special place in the collection and we could see a lot of tweed and leather. It was time to see this more practical line just to fit better the idea of cosy travelling of the brand.
I think this Louis Vuitton collection under the sugnature Nicolas Ghesquière is more down to earth and very well accepted by a vast majority of women.
