It is like a foreplay before the Oscars. Big stars came in New York at the National Board of Review Gala to grab their applauses or do some more campaign before the big moments of the film awards.
On an icy New York, celebrities came on the Red Carpet enflamed only by the desire that their work is much appreciated.
Names like Leonardo Di Caprio and Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep, Léa Seydoux, Bérénice Bejo, Emma Thompson or Jessica Chastain who presented at the gala were there for the gala.
"The best way for the red carpet is by wearing Ugg boots," said Emma Thompson. "But unfortunately, I have not yet managed to persuade the people who style me at these times to let me do that. I've begged, ‘Please let me wear my cozy little Uggs. And a sweat suit.' Pajamas, really. But they won't let me."
Of course the great moment was when Leonardo Di Caprio and Martin Scorsese accepted the award for their artistic collaboration.
"Movies are work," Martin Scorsese declared. "They're a daily battle. If you're gonna go into battle, you better go in with somebody you respect, somebody you trust, and hopefully somebody you like. Leo has all the qualities I'm looking for in an actor." "You mean like an Italian last name?" DiCaprio replied. A great complicity between them and a sure way to an Oscar, we may think, with their fifth film together, The Wolf of Wall Street.
