The Festival of the Pleasure at Cannes, which celebrates 35th anniversairy this year, will be held from 11 till 16 September on the glamourous harbour of Cannes. The expo is renowned with exclusivist previews in a luxurious and elegant world. Undoubtedly the most prestigious event of the nautical calendar, the Festival of the Pleasure at Cannes is the most important nautical event in Europe.
On the sites of the Old Harbour and of the Harbour Pierre Canto, the Festival presents its 500 boats constructed by the biggest international chantiers. During six days of the Festival, most beautiful news in the field, in engine or in veil, from 10 to 61 metres will be displayed in the Old Harbour of Cannes. Many devoted to the services of the exhibitors and in the most pointed nautical equipment that will be on the expo.
With more than 50 % of exhibitors coming from 34 countries, the Festival firmly registered on the calendar of yachting as nautical festival of international recognition. Receiving the inevitable European countries, Italy, Spain, UK and Germany - the Festival receives a growing number of exhibitors from the United States, Russia, Arab Emirates and as well from Asia, as well as Turkey which proposes finished ships with a very high standard.
The 35th Festival keeps characteristics, of course,that assure its success, notably with an exhaustive offer of small and big boats, sailing boats in engine, among which 95 % displayed to streams and available for tests on the sea.
In 2012, not only the Festival of the Pleasure at Cannes celebrates its 35th birthday with an exclusive holiday, but many exhibitors will mark the event also. Riva will celebrate its 170th birthday, Fenwick its 150 years; Yanmar its 100 years; Cranchi, Rodriguez Group, Locasail and Yachting Parners their 40 years; and it will notably be the 30th birthday for the gamme Jeanneau Cape Camarat.
For the first time of its history, the Festival will receive a boat of more than 60m, splendid ‘Diamonds Are Forever' of Benetti - 60.98m. Belonging to the well-known fan of James Bond and experienced yachting, Mr John Staluppi, ‘Diamonds Are Forever' was constructed according to the highest standards and will be presented at the Festival by its constructor, Benetti Yachts.
