Georges Pierre (1927-2003) is the author of the visual of the poster of the 71st Cannes Film Festival, taken from Pierrot le fou by Jean-Luc Godard (1965). This huge photographer immortalizes the filming of more than a hundred films in 30 years of a career that began in 1960 with Jacques Rivette, Alain Resnais and Louis Malle. He then committed collaborations with Robert Enrico, Yves Robert, Claude Sautet, Bertrand Tavernier, Andrzej Zulawski, Andrzej Wajda, so Jean-Luc Godard.Engagé for recognition of authorship for the still photographer, Georges Pierre founded the Association of Film Photographers, responsible for defending the material and moral interests of film photographers.
