Autumn 2013 fashion trends:
There is all graphic now - the fashion trends are more geometrycal and with a deep attention to the lines. There are new forms and cuts, new ways of redesigning the old, recapturing the original inspiration.
Midcentury advertising posters as a fashion inspiration:
That is in the case of Sonia Rykiel, too. She is inspired by the French graphic artists like Raymond Savignac who produced ads for Yoplait and Bic, Bernard Villemot, known for his advertising campaigns for Orangina and Perrier and others, as Sonia Rykiel declared.
The Sonia Rykiel autumn campaign is, in fact, an hommage to the French advertising posters from the midcentury. The idea is produced by designers M/M (Paris) and photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. It is a campaign where the graphic lines are all over. On a orange red background, the model Sam Rollinson poses along with cutout shapes like a mouth, a key, a hand.
The photoshoot was created under the artistic style of Marie Chaix, with hair by Anthony Turner and makeup by Yadim.
