In the euphoric ambiance of Festival de Cannes, the party offered by A Shaded View on Fashion Film and sponsored by Peroni and Magnum was a sort of encounter and rediscovering art under the sign of fashion film.
In the center of the encounter stayed the mysterious icon Diane Pernet who dressed as her usual visual code and who created a stir of emotions around her. As the head of the project ASVOFF, Diane Pernet succeeds in combining fashion and film and releasing artistic emotions from it. It is a mix of cinema thrills that can stimulate young talents for creating fashion films - a great opportunity to underline that fashion is about art also.
Fashion film is an innovatory field and it can lead to emerging artists and fashion icons and releasing great artistic works of art. Is a field that begins more and more to show its virtues. Fashion brands begin to promote themselves through films. Look at Karl Lagerfeld who never ceases to bring more cinema to the brand.
Along with this 6th edition of ASVOFF evening, the projections were short films involving creators and photographers but also fashion icons as Rossy de Palma or Tilda Swinton.
The ambiance was elevated by the wonderful singer Joana Preiss, also a conneection between music and film through Lands close to Paterson, a short film made on the streets of New York.
It is good to remember that ASVOFF, first International Fashion Film Festival is happening every year at Centre Pompidou Paris on October.
