Eight novels were exclusive selected by the members of jury chaired by Franz-Olivier Giesbert for the Book Competiton in the City of Nice alias Award Bay of the Angels on May 25th, 2012.
Backed and endowed by the capital of the French Riviera, this competition rewards a novel published in the twelve months preceding the festival of the book from Nice.

The confession of the angels, Christel black (Prisma)
As a shade, Michel Schneider (Grasset)
Melancholia of the ravens, Sebastian Rutés (South Acts)
Mister Commander, Roman Slocombe (Nile)
A studious year, Ann Wiazemsky (Gallimard)
The composition of jury 2012 unites: Didier Van Cauwelaert, Irène Frain, Raul Mille, PauleConstant, Olivier Biscaye (manager of the writings of the group Nice-matin), Aurélie Hustin de Gubernatis, Franz-Olivier Giesbert and Patrick Besson. For the second year, the French Riviera public is also linked to deliberation of this literary award, for its attribution to one of both finalists indicated by professional jury.
For F-O Giesbert: « It is a prestigious, well installed award, with a very nice honourable list and literary festival that carries it that knows a nice rise, year by year, in range.» The laureate will be presented on Friday, May 25th at the end of deliberation, the elected representative dedicated will succeed to the crowned Aurélie Hustin de Gubernatis from last year, for his work 2012, The security guards of time, edited by Plon.
The book award from City of Nice will be awarded by Mr Christian Estrosi, Deputy-mayor of the city, at the opening of the 17th edition of the Festival of the Book from Nice (8, June 9,10) which will be held under the presidency of Mr Jean d'Ormesson.
