What have in common Givenchy, Giles Deacon, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Preen, Eleven Paris, Olympia Le-Tan, Paul & Joe Sister, Repetto, Van's or Barbara Rihl? The answer is Disney, The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has opted to expand its territory beyond the toy universe to attract adults and fashionistas! Through its iconic, timeless and universal story characters, Disney inspired designers and fashion world for several seasons. Lending to-wear brands (Celio, La Halle aux Chaussures, Undiz ...), creators and even premium and luxury brands (Givenchy and Valentino Red), they are likely to have brought popular culture company in their collections. Mickey and Minnie in mind, it is also The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Snow White, Bambi or The Aristocats that appear on many creations.
To highlight this and to enhance the development of its internal design studio (Fashion and Design Retail), Disney France held Tuesday, March 24, 2015, an event called Disney Fashion Lab, in the heart of Paris, Cartonnerie ( 11). Objective: to expose a method of selecting parts (woman and man clothes and accessories) to present to the press and brand partnerships bold and creative brands, but also speak as part of a conference, popular culture as a source inspiration in fashion.
"We have a huge artistic heritage, with our characters, used to tell stories," says Helen Messenger, Director Markets Fashion House and The Walt Disney Company France.
