On the occasion of its 60th edition, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival will award Darren Star, the Nymph of Honor, who rewards a renowned professional, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the entertainment and television industry. Darren Star is the creator of Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex And The City.
Darren Star will receive the Honorary Nymph
Darren Star will receive the Honorary Nymph from the Festival's Honorary President, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, during the Opening Ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum on Friday, June 18. Darren Star, American screenwriter, director and producer of film and television, has created many internationally successful television series including Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and Sex & The City for which he received an Emmy in 2001. He is also the creator and executive producer of the new Netflix series, Emily in Paris.
Laurent Puons, Deputy Vice-President of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, comments: "We are pleased to honor Darren Star on our 60th anniversary, by presenting him with the prestigious Nymph of Honor. He is a man of "an exceptional talent who has created many of the most popular and popular television shows. We are particularly proud that he can join us in Monaco to receive this honorary award in person."
Previous Nymph of Honor winners include many iconic television industry figures including Dick Wolf, Ted Turner, Jerry Bruckheimer, Anne Sweeney, Stephen J. Cannell, Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner.
