Coco Chanel has been a long time friend for the California artist, Marion Pike. During their friendship, Coco Chanel created clothing and objects for the artist and her daughter, the photographer Jeffie Pike Durham.
Now, with the Milan Fashion Week going along, another sort of exhibition is on. At Palazzo Morando, the exhibition called "Coco Chanel: A New Portrait Painted By Marion Pike, Paris, 1967-71" is curated by the London College of Fashion's professor of costume history, Amy de la Haye.
The exhibition contains paintings with Coco Chanel made by Marion Pike and also pieces of clothing, objects, documents and photographs received from the fashion designer.
The entire exhibition is a clear hommage of the friendship between Coco Chanel and Marion Pike.
