Cuba is the new mirage for the fashion designers. After the great buzz made by Chanel, many other brands found their inspiration into the Cuban life.
Now, that the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro started, it was also a great opportunity for designers to show new influences. This time, Christian Louboutin went on the Cuban vibe for the Rio flame.
The Cuban National team will create the bling bling effect with their Louboutin outfits for Rio. They wear Luboutin's shoes and Henri Tai made the outfits. The design has a 50s Cuban style with the inspiration drawn from the well-known club, Tropicana. The style mixes the sporty edge for a sexy feel, as the designer himself states. He thought of doing the photoshoot in Lisbon, Portugal, city where he has a house and where he says he can feel the connection with Rio.
"There's that same beautiful light. I wanted to bring the Cuban athletes somewhere that had a similar ambiance to Rio, and where they wouldn't feel from their own land," said Louboutin.
