Eva Longoria, Mark Thomas, Eddie Jordan ,Jenson Button and Per Wimmer attend The Sixth Annual Better World Awards Charity Gala in Monaco

 

This past Saturday, May 16, the Sixth Annual Better World Awards returned to The Hotel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo, Monaco to salute and honour Eva Longoria, Mark Thomas, Per Wimmer and PANGO Mobile Parking CEO, Zion Harel for their dedication and philanthropic efforts to help make the world a better place.  Jenson Button and Eddie Jordan were also in attendance at the black tie gala to celebrate with the night's prestigious list of honourees.

American Actress, Eva Longoria accepted the award for Global Philanthropist of the Year for her dedication and contribution to the Latino Community and families worldwide.   Mark Thomas, a Monaco favourite and former Welsh 7s Rugby Player and member of the Monaco bobsled team along side HSH Prince Albert II, received the award for Global Philanthropic Athlete of the Year for his fundraising success with the Princess Charlene Foundation.  Eddie Jordan, Mark's good friend and Founder of Jordan Racing and BBC Formula One Commentator, presented the award to Mark and fellow British Formula One Driver and 2009 Formula One World Champion Jenson Button also attended to celebrate the accolade.  Danish Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Per Wimmer, accepted the award for Entrepreneur of the Year for his ongoing entrepreneurial efforts toward improving the environment and Zion Harel, CEO of PANGO Mobile Parking accepted the Mobile Innovator of the Year award for their game changing vision and action with the innovative mobile app as their company gives money back to the communities worldwide where the app is used whenever a free download is made by users of the app.

The Better World Awards has established a tradition to honour philanthropic prominent individuals, celebrities and athletes who are making the world a better place.  The annual formal black-tie gala attracts affluent international guests and European royalty and welcomes a diverse line-up of guests.  In the past The Better World Awards has welcomed as presenters and honourees, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Julian Lennon, Kweku Mandela, Boris Becker, Pamela Anderson and other dedicated philanthropists.
