Kristen Stewart, Rooney Mara and Princess Alexandra of Hanover were among the celebrities at Chanel's Metiers d'Art Collection. And, although, the show was in Rome, it always had that Parisian feel.
"I didn't know when we started the idea of Paris in Rome that it would be the best moment to show a perfect, romantic Paris when Paris today in reality is the opposite of a romantic city," Lagerfeld said during a preview of his collection.
Chanel's 2016 Metiers d'Art Collection was staged on Tuesday at the Cinecittà film studio No. 5 in a Parisian set with all the elements within: bakeries, cheese and wine boutiques etc. Lagerfeld also showcased an 11-minute movie called "Once and Forever", a short movie starring Kristen Stewart also the actress to star in a Chanel biopic. The entire ambiance connected the fashion show with Gabrielle Chanel and Paris.
"It's like the French girl comes to Rome, with a few little touches inspired by the cardinals," Lagerfeld said. 7
