Business Story Start-Up In Nice 2020

It's been a while since we're living a different type of life. What kind of life, I won't talk about it in this article. Nevertheless, there are people who had a path, who stepped on it and have continued to hope ever since. Hope that their dream would turn into reality. Little steps, a lot of restrictions and patience. This is the case of Patricia and George Balan who opened their ice cream shop in Nice just before the start of a second lockdown. 

Gelato D'Amore launched in the year of 2020, a historical year. What did this mean to you?

We like the idea of being part of a historical year. For businesses, there was a particular year. We had to open our minds, be present, be flexible and intuitive and get real with our plans. We moved forward. For us, 2020 was a busy year, our big picture got even bigger.

How is the concept of business that you're proposing fitting the French Riviera market?

Coming to Riviera made us appreciate even more the culinary culture, its richness of flavors, its particular composition. Our concept is adressed to the Nicois, the people of Nice, and the residents of Cote D'Azur, to their need of experimenting and getting more flavor in their choice of taste. The rich, complex Chocolat Jofre flavor with its French story or the Escoffier born Peach vanilla flavor, reinterpreted recipes, creativity, rare spices, it's all us. A universal message for the gelato lovers: taste it and let us know! We will grant you with delighfull stories in return.

If you would have to describe, in only 6 words, the story of Gelato D'Amore, what would those words be?

The hardest 6 words to find, but it would get to "Big dreams makes a great gelato!

Is French Riviera responding to your story?

Deeply moved by the open hearts of the French Riviera and very grateful for it. The appreciation we received form nicoises, residents of Cote D'Azur, gives us confidence and joy, instantly. It's inspiring to see the sense of belonging, energy and the original sense of humor azureens have. We continue with novelties in flavors and activity in 2021, we like to experiment as much. 

Will 2021 be different from the previous one in what is concerning you and your story?  

We came to terms with 2020. This made us promise we will keep 2021 coming as a gift, with what's in store for us. We believe in our choices and chance and will use them in 2021, to the fullest. We wish you a good and balanced 2021!
