The 2013 edition of Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival will resound this year as a firework celebrating the 150th birthday of the Society Bains de Mers created in 1863. From July 6th till August 19th, the Room of Stars, become worldwide temple of music with its festival receiving a constellation of stars.

Jean - René Palacio, artistic director of SBM, true conductor of the festival wanted an edition as high as this celebration. It represents the extraordinary cultural and human adventure for 150 years by SBM, and its founder, Francois Blanc in 1863: give the dream in one of the nicest destinations of the world.

A reference festival

The event will receive the American superstar, Rihanna, who will give two exceptional concerts so that your ears (and your eyes) enjoy entirely her R'N'B and pop music.

Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival reserves for you great moments this summer with the most British and the most sexy singer and songwriter, Rod Stewart, at the opening of the festival, or even Mr Elton John who will visit again Monte Carlo for 40 incredible years of career which led it to zenith.

If it was necessary to count the number of concerts and of albums sold by the artists programmed this summer, they would get from astounding figures between famous soprano Barbara Hendricks, the most latin from the guitar heroes Carlos Santana, Roger Hodgson, co-founder of mythical Supertramp steamer, Michael Bolton, the king of rock ballades, Bryan Ferry, one of the crooners key of the brit-pop, leader of the cultissime Roxy Music, «the nicest voice box of all time» (dixit Bob Dylan), Mister Joe Cocker, or even Najwa Karam, the «Sun of the Lebanese song», for a «Night of the East» at the closing of the festival...

Stars will switch on one to one all summer long in Monte Carlo, to create this constellation which is the Sporting Summer Festival with a selection of legend groups. Among them, Deep Purple, author of the Smoke on the Water, and in another register, the trio of legend Crosby, Stills and Nash, who will reanimate ambience of the 70s. A perfume of Woodstock in Monaco …

Member of the pub rock stage, Elvis Costello and The Imposters also come with the wheel of fortune composed of 40 pieces. Perhaps you will have the chance to be invited to go up on stage to turn the wheel which will indicate the next interpreted song!

As tradition, SBM will offer big shows during summer. "Spirit of the Dance", will give a fabulous show on original musics and incredible choreography, already seen by 30 million audience. "The Monte-Carlo Rat Pack" will recreate with great fidelity the famous shows given in 1960s by the biggest crooners that were Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin.

Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival will cast Principality in the middle of Riviera. And not to forget the French-speaking and Italian artists. Michel Sardou will review " The Big Instants " of his career, Garou will introduce the last plan " Rhythm and Blues ", without forgetting the most French of the British men, Mika.

Transalpine side, the superstar Eros Ramazzotti will give a concert on the occasion of the Red Cross Gala on August 2nd, before the visit of popular Biagio Antonacci, of Roman Claudio Baglioni and the mythical group Pooh, accompanied with Group Symphony Orchestra.

The tenor Roberto Alagna with its show " Little Italy « celebrating this passionate and cross-border link.

With 23 artists, groups and shows programmed on about 40 parties, Monte Carlo Sporting Summer Festival shows once again that it is one of the biggest music festivals live of the planet. Perhaps the nicest gift for the 150th birthday of SBM...
