Barbie turns 55. And it's eternal! For the iconic doll, it could not get any better as a new exhibition is on the rails at Montreal's shopping center, Les Cours Mont-Royal. The Barbie Expo is the largest Huate Couture doll exposition in the world.
Barbie is dressed in haute couture Versace, Christian Dior, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Oscar de la Renta, Herve Leger and many others. There are more than 1000 looks of the doll dressed haute couture so a long walk to the exhibition is required.
The exhibition also pays tribute to the Hollywood style with outfits worn by Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Marylin Monroe.
"It took two years to pull all this together. But we wanted to do something different that would celebrate the history of haute couture fashion and reflect the high-end environment at Les Cours Mont-Royal," said Valerie Law, vice president of marketing and communications at the Soltron Group.
"Some Barbies were also specifically created for this show," Law said. Overall, I think people will be quite surprised by the level of high fashion that is on display here."
The exhibition is free to public and open on Thursday.
