ASOS and MTV unite this summer to create a limited edition collection of men's and women's clothing and accessories, inspired by the 80s
Available from June 23, the ASOS x MTV collaboration is an audacious and retro collection, Perfectly adapted to the style of today's MTV fans. With MTV and ASOS both sharing a young and irreverent spirit, this collection will delight the nostalgic of the decade that brought us hip-hop, house music and, of course, MTV.
MTV shared its art archives and logos with the design team of ASOS and, working closely together, created a trendy board inspired by the 80s. ASOS printing and design teams then translated This inspiration in collections for Man and Woman. The highly graphic line captured the rebellious spirit of this period with decorative denims, two-piece sets of graffiti and neon-pink animal prints. The silhouettes include asymmetric cocktail dresses, laced swimwear, with the iconic logo of MTV splattered on neon accessories, such as banana bags, sneakers or trendy socks. ASOS Design Director Sian Ryan said: "As MTV started in the 80s, we thought it would be an excellent era as a starting point, inspiring us to this era of incredible changes both in the Music that pop culture ".
"This partnership is a sartorial celebration of youth, which is a common inspiration for MTV and ASOS," said Ron Johnson, Executive Vice President at Viacom International Media Networks. "We are looking forward to our fans discovering the collection and appropriating it." To fit into the launch of this collection, ASOS produced Pimp My Tracksuit, a revisited version of the classic Pimp My Ride series, presented by the original presenter of the British show Tim Westwood. Pimp My Tracksuit will be posted on the ASOS Facebook page on June 23rd. Prices range from € 6.99 to € 81.99.
The MTV x ASOS collection will be available online for over 150 territories, including Europe, the United States, Canada, EMEA, and Central / South America.
