Artistic Anecdote, Patrick Ullmann

Between the salad and the dessert, I discover at my table, a shy, little talkative gentleman. He says he has been a photographer for almost sixty years. After working for the show "Dans le vent" on Europe 1 and photographing Anglo-Saxon pop groups, stars of French song, he set up his studio under the very stage of Olympia at the invitation of Bruno Coquatrix. He will not leave this "submarine" until it is demolished. For several decades, he thus had carte blanche and privileged access to all the artists who have performed in this legendary room. A wonderful storyteller, he tells me about Léo Ferré, Aznavour, Barbara or Claude Nougaro, of whom he was the confidant and the friend.
He was the exceptional witness of a great era of French song. We meet again a few days later to discover his work.
The number of artists photographed is impressive. Parade before me the faces of Aznavour, Brassens, Barbara, Cesaria Evora, Nougaro, Claude François, Dalida, Christophe, Jerry Lewis, Devos, Reggiani, Montand ...

I regret to realize that the size of my gallery will not allow me to exhibit everything. Which then ? The MEP, the City of Music?
The containment and the fear of contamination cut short all the tests of a production of this project.
Hope gives life, I am convinced that I can find a good way to show these precious images to the general public .... with other anecdotes that Patrick Ullman must certainly know!
