Sex and the city, what a thrill for all time fashionistas and life lovers! Romance, style, girl fun and friendship, New York and very much avant-garde fashion. Such an inspiration for many! It couldn't stop even if time flew. Wrinkles and grey hair don't wipe away style! So, hold on, this promisses to bring some inspiration too on a reboot level.
No more Samantha for Just Like That
There are the three Sex and The City characters, Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda. (Samantha didn't want to be part of the new movie). Now, it needed a modern update for the girl being well grown up now.
Sex and the city style on the streets of New York City
"What we brought in new was just updating it. Making it more modern. Working with new designers, new young designers, internationally," Santiago says. "Because of Instagram, we were able to find all these new people that we could bring in. But again, sticking to what the girls had already as far as their types of looks."
Revival of the SATC fashion culture
Reinventing, recreating, starting from Sarah Jessica Parker's archive wardrobe. And styling it on the streets of New York City. Paparazi, influencers, bloggers, fashionistas were all on the quest of finding their inspiration on these streets and going back to social media and talk about it. The entire idea is about the storytelling it creates, the fun and lifestyle. The entire wardrobe for the series was to get a new dimension from the old ones and new ones all along. Bringing vintage back, reshuffling some old pieces and searching for new ones. This was a tough one in this actual situation where stores were closed or had different schedules. The fashion culture is about to be revived!
"It was immediate Roman Colosseum," says Molly Rogers, costume designer of "And Just Like That."
