To pay tribute to Joséphine Baker, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has chosen an emblematic jazz venue in Monaco, Le Bar Américain. At the heart of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, it has been frequented by the world's greatest personalities. To animate this evening Axel Jaffray, journalist specializing in the field of music and producer, will evoke at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. with two tributes of about thirty minutes each the life of the star and his career. It will be accompanied by the singer's most famous arias, performed by a jazz group. But paying tribute to this artist is also being able to admire her and for that reason unpublished archive photographs will be shown throughout the evening in the room.

It was in 1969 that Joséphine Baker's historical link was created with the Principality of Monaco and Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Through the decorator André Levasseur, Joséphine Baker met Princess Grace, who, through her generosity welcomes the artist to the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo following his financial difficulties.
