The 61st edition of the 2015 Rose Ball will benefit the Princess Grace Foundation and will be held on Saturday, 28 March, at Salle des Etoiles, Sporting Monte-Carlo Under the Presidency of H.S.H. Prince and Princess of Monaco and
H.R.H. Princess of Hanover.
H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, President of the Princess Grace Foundation, has asked her friend Karl Lagerfeld to design the 2015 Rose Ball. Together they came up with an Art Deco setting, thereby paying tribute to one of the art world's most elegant artistic and architectural movements.
The Art Deco movement related to the world of luxury embodies a delicate balance between art and craftsmanship. Its elegance, refinement, rarity and comfort charmed a sophisticated clientele in the 1930s.
The 2015 Rose Ball is reinventing itself through the Art Deco aesthetic, faithfully transposing the main distinctive traits of the Salle des Arts: simplistic shapes mixed with interlocking and purely geometrical stylised motifs. The Salle des Etoiles is undergoing a transformation, taking on the charm of the Salle des Arts at the Sporting d'Hiver.
The decor will consist of mirrors amid matt gold and white tones. The symmetrical lines, the white floral compositions and the beautiful motifs are the focal points of this year's ball, which organisers Françoise Dumas & Anne Roustang are filling with references to the legendary glamour of Monaco. The magic of the Roaring Twenties is also drawn from attention to detail, ensured by the excellent production company Marcadé.
PRINCES' ENTRY
Guests will be invited to participate in the stroll, reliving the splendor of the 1930s, like Monaco socialites, as if time had stopped still. At the entrance of the 2015 Rose Ball, the Art Deco ambience will be evident thanks to the symmetrical arcades in beige and black trompe l'oeil marble and the retro photo exhibition of sumptuous bygone evenings in the legendary Salle des Arts. The floral compositions will consist of impressive sprays of white roses.
THE SALLE DES ETOILES DECOR
The Salle des Etoiles will showcase the beauty of the Salle des Arts in selected shades that will change throughout the evening for an exceptionally enchanting effect. In keeping with this unique decor, the textures of the selected high-grade materials will set off the refined colours which were popular at the time. A matt gold mosaic design with an immaculate white background will be the shining centerpiece in a delicate interplay of geometric shapes, characteristic of this art movement.
