Pantone, the X-Rite company and global color reference and provider of professional color standards for the creative sector, has just published the Fashion Color Report Fall 2017, an outline of the colors used by fashion designers for their seasonal collections. This report is one of two semi-annual reports published for the fashion industry by color experts from the Pantone Color Institute, highlighting the colors of men's and women's fashion for the upcoming New York fall season and for First time in London.
"There is a consistency between the colors we see on the catwalks in New York and London," says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute. "However, individuality is obvious and we see a clear difference between the events of the two cities in how these same colors are combined. "
New York Color palette
"With a vibrant red of Grenadine and a fawn autumn maple, the color palette for the fall of 2017 is more heat-based," says Eiseman. "Comforting, enveloping colors and ease are crucial for seasonal feeling, such as the exceptional shades of pale pink ballet skates, a refreshing Golden Lime and a bright Marina blue add a striking touch when paired with classic fall shades Navy Peony, Neutral Gray, Butterum and Tawny Port. "
London Color Palette
"Directed by a bright flame, the color palette for the fall of 2017 is composed of strong classical colors complemented by a few unpredictable shades for the autumn and winter seasons," notes Leatrice Eiseman. "Unexpected combinations like Royal Lilac and Otter or Lemon Curry with Blue Bell attract the eye and create an unusual color dichotomy. "
